How the system works

Structure, oxygen and biology determine the outcome — not rainfall. Rainfall only reveals the weakness of the system.


Soil functions as a system in which biology, physics and chemistry are interconnected.
When the system works, water enters the profile, is retained and becomes available to the plant.
When the system loses function, water is lost or stagnates without oxygen, structure closes and the root stops working.
These processes are not visible on the surface — but they affect the outcome.

Dr Agro does not focus on individual practices, but on analyzing the behavior of the soil system over time.

We work through three levels:
• interventions — we introduce change into the system
• measurement — we monitor how the system responds
• forensics — we explain why it happens

Outcomes are not the result of one decision, but the consequence of a system capable of functioning.
